Ideal Leyland and Murray Cypress Plant Spacing for Privacy
This post will have more pictures than typical, but they will make the spacing idea clearer.
The trees in the pictures are 1 year old in current location, were 2’ tall at planting and currently are 4-5’ in August of 2023.
They are spaced 5’ apart as the objective is to put in a swimming pool in mid 2024. The backyard is small, all four neighbors are fantastic, but currently there is just no privacy for this near $500K home. By mid 2024 the trees should lock together and form a green wall while reaching 7-8’ height.
The Leyland Cypress are spaced out 5’ apart in a row, 32 to cover the whole backyard as there are 4 neighbors in total
The trees are 3’ wide right now
We are expecting to cover the 2’ space between the trees in 12 months so a green wall will be formed.
The Cypress has grown about 1’ on the horizontal branches with an expected addition 1’ growth for the remainder of 2023.
