No City or HOA Permit - Questions Around Planting Privacy Trees
HOAs and City governance arguably does much good in enforcing some common sense rules to assure an overall uniform appearance of a community.
They are also a governance elected and funded by those whom they rule. Permits are needed for the simplest of changes to a property by the tax paying owner..
Zoning is often a sticky issue as many people start businesses out of the home and move into a commercial property as working from home becomes unsustainable.
We observed in our work that most additions to a property will go without a challenge by the local authorities as long as the neighbors do not complain. So making things look good and being friendly with the neighbors makes a big difference.
In addition, once a year or so long has passed, the unauthorized changes made are usually allowed to remain as long as they pose no hazard to others.
It is only sensible to plant privacy evergreens and pacify the curiosity of neighbors with lush vegetation. Besides, very few people will complain about privacy evergreens as all neighbors benefit from the privacy.
