Green Giant Arborvitae in a Staggered Row for Privacy

Green Giant Arborvitae is by far the most popular choice for privacy seeking property owners in the Midwest. Particularly popular because it is fast growing, beautiful, deer and diseases resistant.

Some people prefer to plant them in a straight row along the fence or property boundary. Others prefer to increase the size of the trees by spreading them out more into a staggered row as in the picture below.

In our opinion the straight row yields a more neat & organized look while the staggered row yields an image of depth, although the Green Giant Arborvitae Forest is only two trees deep, but that is impossible to know from the other side.

Both solutions will result in a no-see-through green wall and the trees will rapidly lock together as long as they receive plenty of sun, water and nutrition.
